Are you an experienced procurement professional with a track record in large-scale capital projects? Do you want to play a key role in delivering complex projects within the pharmaceutical or chemical process industries? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

We are seeking a Project Procurement Manager to support the successful planning, execution, and delivery of our client’s capital programme in Italy. This is a high-impact role where you’ll develop and drive procurement and contract strategies, collaborate with engineering and operations teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

What You’ll Do

  • Champion a strong safety culture across all procurement and contracting activities.
  • Develop and implement robust procurement and contract strategies tailored to project needs.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal teams (Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal) and external partners (FEED & EPCM contractors, subcontractors, vendors).
  • Lead commercial sessions, tender clarifications, contract reviews, and negotiations.
  • Ensure timely review and approval of procurement and contract documents in line with project schedules.
  • Oversee performance management of consultants to ensure delivery of project procurement and contract outputs.
  • Drive strategic sourcing initiatives, delivering value through consolidation, rationalisation, and standardisation.
  • Contribute to Supplier Relationship Management strategy with critical vendors.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bilingual in Italian and English .
  • 7+ years’ experience in procurement of professional services, construction, process equipment, and project delivery within complex projects (EPC/EPCM/FEED).
  • 5+ years’ experience working on capital projects, ideally in the pharma or chemical process sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of Italian construction/engineering contract forms and bespoke agreements.
  • Hands-on experience with lumpsum, cost-plus, re-measurable, and target cost commercial models.
  • Ability to manage contractual risk and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with cost estimate classification systems, local regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Calm under pressure, able to deliver to aggressive timelines in fast-paced environments.
