MAW S.p.A. Division Search & Selection, Udine branch, is recruiting on behalf of a multinational company leader in the metallurgical industry a:
Process Technologist
The selected candidate will join the international Process Engineering team and will be involved in the development, optimization and commissioning of highly automated steel production plants.
The role acts as a link between metallurgical processes, industrial automation and mathematical modeling, with strong exposure to international projects.
Main Activities
- Process data analysis and optimization of production parameters;
- Development and tuning of simulations and mathematical models for process control;
- Optimization of Level 1 and Level 2 industrial automation systems, in collaboration with Software and Automation teams;
- Collaboration with Automation, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams in defining process logics and operational guidelines;
- Participation in commissioning, cold test, hot test and plant ramp-up activities at international production sites;
- Troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to process, automation and mathematical models;
- Monitoring of production performance and implementation of continuous improvement actions;
- Technological benchmarking and process optimization activities.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Materials, Automation Engineering or related fields);
- At least 5 years of experience in steel industry or heavy industry environments;
- Experience in process automation and industrial commissioning;
- Knowledge of Level 1 and Level 2 industrial automation systems;
- Data analysis skills and experience with industrial databases;
- Professional working proficiency in English;
- Availability for international business trips and extended stays at production plants.
Technical Skills
- Experience with simulation and modeling tools such as Abaqus and knowledge of FEM methodologies.
- Knowledge of C and C++ for mathematical model and process logic development;
- Knowledge of Python for data analysis and simulations.

- Ability to work in multidisciplinary and international teams;
- Interest in advanced industrial technologies and process innovation.
