Process Engineer – Sludge to Energy

The ideal candidate is a Process Engineer with a solid chemical or environmental background and a strong experience in waste and sludge thermal treatment. The role will deal with a wide range of tasks in the Engineering and Project Execution Area.

Main responsibilities

• Design engineering solutions (process and equipment) for sludge and waste infrastructure projects, including heat and energy balances, equipment sizing, and technical specifications;
• Support decarbonization strategies by working closely with project managers and O&M teams in order to improve process efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and promote circular economy approaches such as waste recovery and energy optimization;
• Assist the proposal team in developing technical content for public tenders and thermal treatment projects focused on energy efficiency;
• Contribute to sustainability initiatives in collaboration with the Corporate Sustainability team, supporting the integration of ESG principles and performance tracking in infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• M.Sc in Chemical/Energy/Environment Engineering or equivalent;
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role;
• Strong knowledge in process engineering applied to waste treatment;
• Proficient in the process knowledge of gasification and combustion of solid wastes and sludge mud;
• Familiarity with the latest technologies in waste transformation, such as waste to chemicals and waste to fuels;
• Basic knowledge in environmental impact assessment is a nice to have;
• Languages: Italian (fluent) and English (proficient); French is a nice to have.
