Process Engineer

Process Engineer – Solaris Biotechnology

Position located in Porto Mantovano (MN), USA. Travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative bioreactors, fermenters, and downstream bioprocessing equipment for the biotech, pharma, and food & beverage industry.
• Apply industry and engineering knowledge to innovate and solve complex customer challenges, creating competitive advantage.
• Develop technical documentation such as layouts, PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, URS, technical specifications, fluid lists, and consumption calculations.
• Perform hydraulic sizing of lines and main process equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, agitation groups, valves, etc.).
• Carry out engineering design according to cGMP, pharmaceutical technical regulations, and local regulations.
• Commission and final test equipment at manufacturing and customer sites.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in chemical/process/pharmaceutical engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience as an engineer in bioprocessing, food and beverage, or pharma industry.
• English language proficiency (B1 level).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with pilot plant design; open/closed loop and fluid technologies (pumping & regulation, temperature transfer & regulation).
• Knowledge of instrument technologies (electromagnetic, mass, etc.).
• Proficiency with P&ID, AutoCAD 2D, generating bills of material, detailed functional analysis, plant commissioning.
• Experience with QI/QO/QP and strong presentation skills.
• Fluency in Italian and English.
