An established European private equity platform focused on the energy transition is seeking a Junior Investment Associate to support its growing investment activity across core Southern European markets. The firm invests in industrial and business services companies providing equipment, technology, and software that enable the transformation of the energy value chain.

You will join a lean, entrepreneurial team at an active stage of capital deployment, portfolio development, and organisational build-out. The role offers direct exposure to transactions, industrial value creation, and senior decision-makers across the platform.


Key responsibilities


  • Support the execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A processes, coordinating with advisors and internal stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models (including LBO and other cash flow-based analyses) to support investment decisions.
  • Perform financial analysis, valuation work, and support due diligence on potential investments.
  • Prepare investment committee materials, presentations, and internal documentation.
  • Assist with portfolio monitoring, including performance tracking, reporting, and follow-up on key KPIs.
  • Conduct market and industry research to help shape and refine investment theses.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives such as organic growth plans, integrations, financing/refinancing and potential add-on acquisitions.


Candidate profile


  • 2–3 years of experience in investment banking (M&A / corporate finance), private equity or a top-tier strategy / transaction advisory environment with preference for energy or industrial sectors.
  • Strong exposure to transaction work: financial analysis, valuation, and execution of buy-side and/or sell-side mandates.
  • Advanced financial modelling skills, with high attention to detail and consistency.
  • Solid understanding of corporate finance and accounting fundamentals.
  • Experience covering industrial or energy-related sectors is a clear advantage, but not strictly required.
  • Used to working in demanding, high-performance environments with multiple concurrent workstreams and tight deadlines.
