Job description


CAPZA is seeking an Investment Intern to join its Milan office. This role offers the opportunity to work across a variety of sectors and investment types, including both majority and minority equity transactions as well as private debt deals. As an intern, you will be an impactful contributor to the deal team and gain significant exposure to all aspects of CAPZA's investment activities.


Role & Responsibilities


As an Investment Intern, you will work closely with analysts and associates to support the origination and execution of all aspects of private equity and private debt transactions, including but not limited to:

  • Financial Modeling: assist in the creation and refinement of financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, including leveraged buyouts and other relevant analyses
  • Due Diligence: help conduct industry, market, and company-specific research to identify key risks, opportunities, and trends. This will include reviewing financial statements, assessing operational performance, and evaluating management teams
  • Investment Memoranda: contribute to the preparation of investment memos and presentations for the investment committee
  • Deal Sourcing and Origination: support the identification and screening of potential investment opportunities
  • Transaction Execution: help manage the process of executing transactions, including liaising with advisors, as well as preparing the relevant documentation
  • Market and competitive analysis: perform in-depth industry research and market analysis to identify trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging sectors
  • Portfolio Management support: assist in tracking and monitoring portfolio company performance, including financial reporting, operational improvements, and other value-creation initiatives


Key Qualifications and Skills


  • Strong quantitative skills and financial modeling capabilities
  • On-time delivery mindset, with strong attention to details
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity, initiative, and professional maturity
  • Ability to work well in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced work environment
  • Prior experience at an investment bank, strategy consulting firm, transaction advisory services firm, and/or private equity firm will be a plus
  • Proficiency in English and Italian languages (French proficiency is a plus)
