Experteer Overview
In this role you implement physical design for Optical Network ASICs across cutting‑edge nodes, learning new nodes and refining flows to achieve best‑in‑class power, performance, and area. You will work within cross‑functional hardware teams to explore design trade‑offs, drive feasibility studies, and push timing and physical closure. You will contribute to scalable methodologies and automation across the full flow from RTL to GDSII. This is a hands‑on opportunity at Nokia Bell Labs to shape high‑performance connectivity hardware for the AI era.

- Perform floorplanning, place & route, power/clock distribution, physical verification and timing closure at block and full-chip levels
- Collaborate with logic designers and hardware teams to assess feasibility and trade-offs for physical design closure
- Evaluate IP vendors and process nodes; drive IP requirements in the physical domain
- Develop physical design methodologies and automation scripts for synthesis through GDSII
- Conduct static timing analysis, define timing constraints, analyze critical paths, and sign off timing
- Carry out physical verification and IR/EM analysis on blocks and top levels
- Support IP integration, both internal and external, ensuring alignment with physical design goals
Responsabilità
- 8+ years of ASIC physical design flow experience in 3/5/7nm nodes
- Strong RTL-to-GDSII understanding and deep submicron concepts
- Experience with EDA tools: Fusion Compiler, Innovus, Calibre, Primetime, Redhawk
- Scripting in TCL, Python, or Perl
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Electronics and Communication/VLSI/Microelectronics
- Ownership mindset and ability to drive IP and design decisions in the physical domain
- Experience integrating IP from internal and external vendors
