A well-established IT services and consulting organisation is looking to appoint a Presales / Solution Architect to replace an existing resource within its Ancona-based team. You will act as a trusted technical advisor during the presales phase, working closely with customers and internal sales teams to understand business requirements, design high-level architectures, and support the creation of competitive and effective commercial proposals. The Role As a Presales / Solution Architect, you will be responsible for engaging with customers and prospects to gather requirements, design robust IT solutions, and support the sales process with technically sound proposals.

You will act as a key technical interface between customers, sales, and internal engineering teams, ensuring that proposed solutions align with both business needs and company capabilities.

The role is primarily office-based in Ancona, with occasional travel to customer sites in Northern Italy. Remote working is limited and only permitted after managerial approval, and not during the first 6 months.

Key Responsibilities

- Engage with customers and prospects to understand technical and business requirements

- Support the sales team in developing and validating commercial proposals

- Design high-level infrastructure and cloud solution architectures

- Translate business needs into scalable and reliable technical solutions

- Collaborate with internal technical teams to ensure solution feasibility

- Participate in customer meetings and occasional on-site visits

- Identify appropriate technologies and integration approaches

- Contribute to continuous improvement of presales processes and solution standards

About You We are looking for a technically strong and commercially aware professional with experience in systems integration and enterprise infrastructure environments. Essential Skills & Experience

- Previous experience in a

system integrator / VAR / IT consulting environment

- Strong background in IT infrastructure and enterprise systems design

- Experience in customer-facing or presales roles

- Ability to design high-level technical architectures Technical Knowledge Understanding of enterprise technologies including:

- HPE infrastructure, Zerto, Veeam, Commvault

- Microsoft Active Directory, Hyper-V

- UNIX/Linux environments

Knowledge of networking, storage, and infrastructure protocols such as:

- GRE, VRRP, HSRP, LACP, STP

- IP, TCP, UDP, IPSEC, DNS, DHCP, SNMP

- iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS, Fibre Channel (FC), NDMP

- S3 object storage, LDAP, SSH, SFTP, NTP

- RAID, iLO and related hardware management tools

Certifications are welcome but not essential. Valuable certifications include:

- ITIL v4 Foundation

- PMI PMP

- PRINCE2
