What you will do. A glimpse in your role:

The Pre-Sales Technical Manager is responsible for supporting gateway and integration projects across Europe. The role requires strong expertise in the payments industry, including deep knowledge of card payment systems and card scheme standards, as well as experience with POS systems and hotel PMS applications.

This position acts as a key technical partner to client-facing teams—such as Sales, Account Management, and Partnerships—by providing technical guidance, supporting new business opportunities, and ensuring successful integration for existing clients. The Pre-Sales Technical Manager also leads and coordinates the RFI/RFP process in collaboration with internal stakeholders, including Sales Engineering, Finance, Legal, Product, and other relevant departments.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • In depth understanding of the payments and financial technology industry; along with the ability to “tell a story” through a deep understanding of Global Blue technology stack;
  • Ability to be present a solution sale to large groups, including internal employee training sessions as well as client/partner meetings;
  • Ability to become a Subject Matter Expert on the Global Blue platform and our solutions;
  • Review incoming technical requests and respond to questions for the Sales, Account Management and other client-facing teams;
  • Lead pre-sales and technical integration calls, hotel and retail point-of-sale, ecommerce and mobile integration discussions - Includes taking minutes and performing research on the potential merchant/partner prior to the call to ensure that we understand their environment, products and solutions;
  • Attend conferences, presentations and other client-facing meetings as needed;
  • Act as a partner/merchant advocate in Product Planning Meetings - This includes organizing and recording merchant product requests that come up during integration calls, and training sessions, product demos, and other times when this information is passed to the solutions team;
  • Provide technical input and guidance into the solution design and ensure all designs will work in line with industry standards including scheme mandates;
  • Participate in planning and implementation of weekly training sessions for internal resources;
  • Participate in planning and implementation of monthly webinars for our partners;
  • Contribute to responses for Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP);
  • Liaise with other business groups where necessary.

Specific skills and knowledge

  • Experience with payments solutions, acquirer, issuer, PSP systems, and industry protocols, as well as POS integration in hotel and retail sectors;
  • Ability to act as a technical consultant to Product team on platform design and customizations;
  • Ensure solutions are specified and documented according to agreed deliverables and processes;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work proactively;
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal) with strong critical and creative writing skills;
  • Strategic thinking with entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong customer orientation and focus on improving processes and user experience;
  • Ability to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design;
