Who are we looking for? We are currently searching for Power Portfolio & Costing Analyst with a strong analytical mindset and experience in energy markets, costing and portfolio management, eager to continue professional growth at our Milan office within the Global Business Unit S&EM – “Supply & Energy Management” .
The Global Business Unit S&EM provides energy supply solutions and risk management services to support its clients through their decarbonization journey, while optimizing ENGIE’s assets and contributing to value creation.
What will you do?
You will report to the Head of Supply Portfolio Management and contribute to economic optimization, costing and risk management of the downstream Power portfolio of the GBU Supply and Energy Management, across different customer segments (Retail, B2B, Resellers). The role combines analytical, operational and data-driven activities, supporting costing, hedging, P&L monitoring and reporting processes.
What will you be in charge of?
- Perform costing activities, including price and risk evaluation, fixing management, verification of correct price valuation for monthly invoicing purposes.
- Monitor portfolio exposure and risk, using both financial and physical instruments, and supporting hedging activities.
- Use and manage ETRM systems for deal capture, risk analysis, settlements and reporting.
- Ensure consistency between portfolio data, reporting tools and control systems.
- Collaborate with the Forecasting team to ensure accurate consumption profiling used in pricing, refresh the commodity portfolio and P&L based on improved forecasts and final volume allocations.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of tools, processes and innovative solutions for portfolio and risk management.
About You
- A university degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Statistics.
- 2–5 years of experience in the energy sector (Gas & Power), preferably on power portfolio management, costing or risk management roles.
- Good knowledge of the Italian energy market and downstream market dynamics.
- Good knowledge of energy financial instruments and its portfolio management application (e.g. physical forward, swaps, indexed formulas; time and location spread; peak vs baseload spread).
- Good knowledge of options theory and its practical applications would be a strong plus
- Experience with ETRM systems and reporting tools.
- Strong proficiency in Excel; programming languages for data science, particularly Python or R, would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with data analytics and data visualization tools such as Dataiku or Databricks.
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to synthesize complex information, ability to take decisions within assigned responsibilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proactiveness, curiosity and willingness to operate in a dynamic and continuously evolving environment.
- Fluent in English, ideally at a native or near-native level.
