The Metabolic Reprogramming in Solid Tumors Lab directed by Prof. Claudio Vernieri investigates how cancer cells rewire metabolism to sustain growth and adapt to stress.


We seek for our Institute: Postdoctoral Scientists - Tumor Metabolism for a 2–3 year in vivo research project funded through a Sponsored Research Agreement (SRA).


Project

  • In vivo studies using murine tumor models across multiple cancer types
  • Investigation of metabolic adaptations and vulnerabilities to identify novel metabolic approaches for cancer treatment
  • Strong translational component aimed at developing a commercial product
  • Long-term goal: development of a commercially relevant outcome


Responsibilities

  • Perform in vivo experiments in murine tumor models
  • Assist in the management, monitoring, and experimental handling of animal cohorts
  • Collaborate with other researchers and technicians in data collection and experimental workflows
  • Intellectual contribution in the critical interpretation and future implementation of the experimental results


Required skills

  • Strong experience in in vivo cancer models, including orthotopic and syngeneic breast, colorectal and lung carcinoma murine models
  • Result-oriented, motivation, enthusiasm, expertise and collaborative mindset
  • Authorization for animal experimentation according to national regulations is a plus



Language skills

Proficiency in English for speaking and writing - English is the working language at the Institute.


Educational experience

PhD in biomedical sciences or related fields (e.g., biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, pharmacy, cancer biology, translational cancer research);
