Description of the research activity:
Objectives: develop approaches that allow use of common food waste evaluation methods/metrics to facilitate progress to sustainability goals; identify/promote impactful solutions for food waste reduction/avoidance at consumer (demand) & business (supply) level; using evidence-based findings to propose pathways to facilitate food waste reduction/avoidance. Comprehensive 3-pillar (P1 neurocognitive processes, P2 analytics, P3 field experiments)/two-layer (L1 demand, L2 supply) approach is used. L1: P1 qualitative data, examine cognitive bias towards food waste. L1: P2 quantitative data, measure actual behaviour and AI assessment. L1/P3 field experiments (mixed data). L2 food procurement & inventory strategies to determine impacts of the entire food supply chain.
