Role Description
We are seeking a Portfolio Manager to join our Multi Family Office team based in Milan.
The selected candidate will play a central role in the construction and management of client portfolios and in providing investment advice, working closely with clients while contributing to the implementation of the Group’s investment strategies.
The role combines portfolio management responsibilities with direct client interaction, ensuring that investment strategies are implemented in line with the Group’s models, frameworks and policies, while at the same time being tailored to the specific needs and profile of each client.
The Portfolio Manager will operate with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating closely with the CEO, the CIO and the Group’s global investment teams based in the United States, the United Kingdom and other international offices.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Management
- Implement investment strategies across discretionary portfolios within the framework of the Group’s guidelines and portfolio models.
- Define strategic and tactical asset allocation and optimize risk/return profiles.
- Generate investment ideas aligned with the Group’s vision and proprietary frameworks, in coordination with the CIO and global investment teams.
- Provide clients with investment advice consistent with Group models and policies.
- Continuously monitor financial markets and relevant investment solutions.
- Conduct manager selection activities.
Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting
- Analyze performance, monitor deviations vs. benchmarks, and ensure mandate compliance.
- Supervise delegated portfolios managed by external managers.
- Prepare periodic reports and ad‑hoc analyses for clients, CEO, CIO and committees.
Client Relationship, Prospect Engagement and Internal Coordination
- Maintain direct and regular interaction with end clients, presenting investment decisions, results and market views through periodic and/or ad hoc meetings.
- Where required, participate in meetings, presentations, webinars and business development initiatives involving prospective clients.
- Prepare presentations and documentation for client and prospect meetings.
- Coordinate with the Head of the MFO and senior specialists from other offices to support client‑and prospect‑related activities.
- Translate Group macro and thematic guidance into proposals aligned with client objectives, constraints and risk profiles.
- Adopt materials and updates produced by global teams.
- Collaborate with compliance, risk management and operational functions.
Requirements
- Degree in Economics, Finance or related fields.
- At least 6 years of experience in portfolio management, wealth management or asset management.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets and investment instruments; proficient in Bloomberg, Morningstar and advanced Excel.
- Fluent in English with strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in an international professional environment.
- Autonomous, responsible, rigorous and adherent to Group models and policies.
- Excellent relational and communication skills for interactions with private clients, prospects and internal stakeholders.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA, EFPA) are considered a plus.
