The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of purchasing materials, equipment, and molds for the production of automotive interiors and components for the naval and aviation sectors, ensuring compliance with OEM requirements in terms of quality, costs, lead times, and process robustness throughout the entire product life cycle.
S/he reports to the Poltrona Frau In Motion General Manager.
Main Activities
Technical Purchasing - Direct Materials
Management of purchasing of direct materials critical to the production process (natural and synthetic leather, plastic supports, foams, adhesives, technical yarns) Technical assessment of suppliers in collaboration with Quality and Process Engineering. Definition of technical supply specifications and tender documents. Management of supply PPAPs (PSW, IMDS, material certifications). Monitoring and improvement of supplier performance (PPM, OTD, cost savings). Mold and Equipment Purchasing
Complete management of mold and production equipment sourcing Collaboration with the Industrialization and Technical Departments for definition of technical specifications, evaluation of manufacturing cycles, definition of service life, maintainability and repeatability requirements Coordination of the following phases: technical RFQs, design review, mold progress monitoring, final technical acceptance Management of mold ownership contracts according to OEM requirements Project Management and Industrialization
Active participation in APQP teams for new OEM projects Support for the prototyping, pre-series, and SOP phase Management of purchasing timing consistent with project milestones Supply risk analysis (supplier process PFMEA). Cost Control and Continuous Improvement
Support for defining target costs for materials and investments (CAPEX) Cost breakdown analysis and value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) Implementation of dual sourcing and local sourcing strategies Support for cost reduction and margin recovery activities. Automotive Quality and Compliance
Support for second-party supplier audits Management of supplier non-conformities (8D, claims, deviations) Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, VDA, and OEM CSR Management of technical changes and supplier change management (ECN) Education and Experience
Degree in Economics, Management Engineering, or similar discipline At least 5 years' experience in procurement roles in the automotive industry (OEM or Tier 1) Knowledge of supply chain processes and automotive regulations (VDA, IATF, ISO) Knowledge of automotive interior materials (leather, fabrics, plastic substrates) Fluent English; knowledge of a second language is preferred. Specific experience in Cost Engineering is a plus. Skills and Abilities

The position offers a Quadro classification with a gross annual salary of €65 -77.000 plus car and health insurance, in line with CCNL Legno Arredo Industria collective agreement. The compensation range indicated in this job posting represents an estimated average range for the position. The final remuneration will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, in accordance with applicable EU pay transparency and pay equity requirements.
