FICEP S.p.A., a company operating in the metalworking industry, is looking to strengthen its workforce by recruiting a:
PLANT DESIGNER
The person will join the Sales Engineering Department and will contribute to the definition of plant layouts for the structural steel fabrication industry.
The role involves participation in both the pre-sales phase and throughout the entire production process of customer orders, ensuring the correct technical definition of the proposed solutions and the preparation of the design documentation supporting production, installation, and plant commissioning.
Main Responsibilities
Provide technical support to Program Managers and the Sales team during the pre-sales phase.
Develop, update, and optimize plant layouts, considering production flows, internal logistics, safety, and space efficiency.
Define the technical solutions for acquired orders.
Prepare 2D and 3D layouts and technical drawings to support production and installation activities.
Liaise with suppliers and technology partners for the integration of technical solutions and material handling systems.
Collaborate with the different company departments involved in project management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent qualification; alternatively, a technical diploma with relevant experience.
At least 2 years of experience in technical or design roles within industrial environments.
Knowledge of production and logistics processes in the metalworking industry.
Ability to read, analyze, and develop technical layouts.
Good knowledge of 2D CAD software (AutoCAD) and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks).
Ability to work in a team and collaborate with the Sales Department, Production, and suppliers.
Preferred Requirements
Experience in the design of factory layouts or production flows, preferably within the structural steel fabrication industry.
Experience in the design of industrial plants or material handling systems.
Familiarity with methodologies for optimizing production flows, space utilization, and safety.
Personal Skills
Analytical approach and problem-solving attitude.
Structured working method and attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and a strong sense of responsibility.
Working hours:
Full-time, day shift, on-site, Monday to Friday.
Gross annual salary (RAL): €35,000–€45,000 , depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
