Overview

SiPearl is the European fabless designer of sovereign secure high-performance energy-efficient CPUs for HPC, AI and data centres. These CPUs address strategic challenges in security, defence, medical research, energy, climate and engineering with a reduced environmental footprint. SiPearl is incubated within the European Processor Initiative (EPI) Consortium and seed-funded by the European Union.

SiPearl employs almost 200 people in France (Maisons-Laffitte, Grenoble, Massy, Sophia Antipolis), Spain (Barcelona) and Italy (Bologna). Following a €130 million Series A, the company launched its Series B round.

About The Role

At SiPearl, we are developing highly complex multi-chiplets/multi-sockets CPUs, based on the latest technologies for processors, NoCs and overall architecture. We provide best-in-class emulation platforms. SiPearl owns one of the biggest in-house emulation platforms in Europe (dual Veloce StratoM+ with a total capacity of 128 boards and up to 30 concurrent users 24/7). We model our physical evaluation board (BMC) to shift left firmware and software development pre-silicon and validate the entire software stack pre-tape-out.

As a Senior Emulation Engineer, you will be at the heart of our projects and R&D, playing a key and visible lead role to drive a team, deploy new projects, and ensure the highest quality of platform deliveries.

Your missions

• Define emulation strategy: capture emulation needs, define emulator size, and specify flow for compilation, execution, and debugging.
• Specify RTL changes: document required RTL modifications for emulation and identify necessary collateral.
• Collaborate on verification strategy: contribute to overall pre-silicon verification strategy.
• Develop emulation workflows: supervise and contribute to developing emulation workflows and integrate hardware/software collateral.
• Optimize workflows: propose and implement improvements and automate tools/scripts for debugging and user experience.
• Generate emulation models: integrate new EDA vendor features to create models adapted to user needs, debug, and optimize execution speed and model size.
• Interface with suppliers: work with tool vendors to address issues, provide feedback, and ensure resolution.
• Provide user support: assist users with emulation platform issues, optimize validation environments, and suggest workarounds.
• Lead collaborative projects: take responsibility for work packages, act as main point of contact for partners, and manage project deliverables.
• Lead a highly efficient team: define and drive the team’s tasks, execute delivery, and mentor teammates.

What Would Make You Succeed In This Role

• At least 10 years of digital ASIC experience
• At least 7 years of experience on emulation platforms
• Good knowledge of modern CPU architecture
• Experience using verification tools
• Experience with embedded C
• Python, HDL, Bash
• Leadership, flexibility and adaptability
• Autonomy & responsibility
