GUESS HANDBAGS DESIGN TEAM IN FLORENCE is seeking to fill a PD supervisor role to join the team. Candidate should be located in Florence. GUESS HANDBAGS DESIGN TEAM IN FLORENCE is seeking to fill a Senior PD role to join the team.
Will be a contract a tempo determinato for a part‑time position (for 12 months for now), 30‑32 hours a week, based in Florence.
Must be fluent in English and Italian, both spoken and written with experience of working using written English.
Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in a specific handbag product with a good technical knowledge of non‑leather materials (PU, synthetics, fabrics), a passion for details and a good eye for color.
Experience working with China is an advantage.
- Skill and knowledge regarding handbag PD and approvals.
- Must provide efficient support to the PD team.
- Responsible for hardware approval.
- Planning and implementation of the material approval system.
- To manage and execute the schedule and follow up of material approvals.
- Must be able to review and address quality comments in English.
- Process and manage the QC procedure.
- Will have daily communication with factories in China (in English) and follow up with HK and LA.
- Good understanding of how to manage time tables and deadlines to respect.
- Excellent organizational effectiveness and follow up skills, efficient and able to work at a fast pace.
- Self‑motivated and pro‑active with the ability to work within a team as well as own initiative.
- Strong aesthetic sensibility and passion for perfection and good results.
- Must have adaptability and capacity to thrive under pressure and an understanding of a fast‑paced environment & timing needs.
