The global patent portfolio consists of 60,000 granted patents in cellular technology, consumer electronics, cloud, networks, and beyond. Ericsson’s Patent Creation Management is part of the global Ericsson GFGS IPR & Licensing Organization and is responsible for all inventions originating from Ericsson R&D sites worldwide. The Patent Unit Continental Europe supports Ericsson’s R&D centers in Europe with IPR tasks.

    We are expanding our teams in Aachen, Germany, and are seeking motivated patent professionals eager to contribute to one of the industry’s largest patent portfolios. Join a company dedicated to research and innovation, leading developments in cellular technology including 5G, 6G, and beyond.

    • Your tasks as a Patent Professional
    • Provide IPR support for Ericsson’s R&D operations, working closely with inventors and innovative technologies. Focus on building a world-class patent portfolio.
    • Participate in projects supporting licensing and litigation, including patent mining, claim chart generation, rebuttal, technical discussions, or reverse engineering.
    • Depending on your qualifications and interests, engage in patent portfolio management, oppositions, and nullity actions to enhance patent value.
    • Contribute to operational and strategic improvements through working groups and projects.
    • Your Qualifications
    • Master’s degree in engineering, physics, or computer sciences, preferably with experience as an inventor in standardization or project management.
    • Understanding of telecommunication technologies.
    • At least partly qualified European Patent Attorney; German Patent Attorney is a plus.
    • Experience in patent portfolio management is advantageous.
    • AI-based drafting skills are beneficial.
    • Strong coordination, communication, accuracy, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
    • Excellent analytical and solution-oriented working style.
    • Proficiency in English; German skills are a plus.
