About The Role

The Operations Manager – Italy is responsible for leading operational delivery, supporting business development, and strengthening client engagement for DNV Industrial Services within Italy and the wider Mediterranean market. The role focuses on expanding DNV’s presence across key sectors including energy transition, EPC fabrication, infrastructure, and industrial services, while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery. The Operations Manager acts as the key interface between clients, inspectors, and global delivery functions, while fostering a strong team culture and supporting sustainable growth in the Italian market.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Delivery

  • Lead execution of inspection and technical services across Italy and nearby markets.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality project delivery aligned with DNV standards.
  • Coordinate inspectors, resources, and project activities across assignments.
  • Monitor delivery performance, client feedback, and operational risks.

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and support operational teams and inspectors with a strong focus on people engagement and satisfaction.
  • Foster a positive team culture, ensuring motivation, collaboration, and retention of key personnel.
  • Support development of team capability through mentoring, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure teams are effectively supported, deployed, and aligned with client and project needs.

Market Development & Client Engagement

  • Support business development activities and strengthen relationships with key Italian clients.
  • Engage with EPC contractors, energy companies, and industrial operators.
  • Identify opportunities across energy transition, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
  • Support preparation of proposals and major tenders with operational input.

Resource & Project Coordination

  • Plan inspector mobilisation and resource allocation across projects.
  • Coordinate with global operations teams supporting international assignments.
  • Ensure effective utilisation and planning of resources.

Operational Excellence

  • Implement global delivery frameworks and operational standards.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and better execution.
  • Ensure alignment with technical methodologies and digital tools.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

  • Preferably Degree in Engineering, Business, or relevant experience in industrial services.
  • 8–12+ years of experience in inspection, engineering services, or energy/industrial sectors.
  • Strong experience in operations coordination, client engagement, and service delivery.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors, fabrication yards, or industrial clients.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with ability to manage multicultural teams.
  • Demonstrates the presence and judgment to operate independently and with a high degree of autonomy.
