Offer Description

The project is part of the applied research activities conducted by the Department of Architecture at Roma Tre University. This work supports the Municipal Administration of Civitavecchia in defining strategic guidelines for regenerating the former Italcementi area—a 12‑hectare brownfield site strategically located between the historic city center and the port waterfront.
The core research problem addresses spatial scale: in small-to-medium-sized urban contexts, abandoned areas of this magnitude are not marginal voids. Instead, they represent macro-portions comparable in size to the established city itself. Consequently, their redevelopment has the power to reshape the overall urban structure.
