Job Description: OCS Specialist, Italy – Location: Rome. Reports to: Country Manager – Italy. The OCS Specialist is responsible for the clinical aspects of the Organ Care System (OCS Lung/Liver/Heart) and supports the use of the OCS in Italy and other countries as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Follow hands‑on training and OCS Certification in all relevant organ platforms, and apply OCS knowledge during organ retrieval, preservation, transport and assessment according to TransMedics protocols.
  • Work full‑time on a variable on‑call schedule to ensure coverage of cases that may occur at any time, including nights, weekends and holidays (to the extent allowed by law).
  • Travel as required to clinical sites within the EU transplant network and possibly other geographies to support OCS cases.
  • Communicate regularly with the TransMedics EU Clinical Programs and Training Lead to relay real‑time updates and to raise issues.
  • Provide clinical expertise to the sales team at national and regional events.
  • Prepare and present internal case reviews following the use of OCS in collaboration with senior colleagues.
  • Manage equipment stored at the logistics hub in Rome (weekly preventative maintenance, inventory counts and testing).
  • Support site initiation and refresher training, and provide clinical guidance to users.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional TransMedics departments to drive adoption of the OCS technology in Italy (and beyond).
  • Assist with training the sales team about OCS functionality.
  • Conduct literature analysis and present findings to management.
  • Perform market and competitive analysis.
  • Attend national and international congresses, as required.
  • Perform other TransMedics tasks and duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in written and spoken Italian and English.
  • Live close to one of the hubs.
  • Hold a degree in Techniques of Cardiocirculatory Pathophysiology and Vascular Perfusion (or equivalent) plus at least 3years of relevant clinical experience, OR a BSN with experience in CVICU, CVOR, CATH LAB, ED, or transplant (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Highly flexible and willing to support sites on nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to establish and maintain long‑term trusted relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent customer‑facing and customer‑engagement skills.
  • Strong work ethic and accountability for personal & organizational results.
  • Proven track record of remaining calm and professional in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and Concur expense management.
