O&M Engineer

Aufgaben

You will be an O&M Engineer responsible for the evaluation and execution of engineering activities for revamping and repowering projects on both ground mounted and rooftop PV plants.

Your role will be fundamental to evaluate the engineering characteristics of specific revamping/repowering projects, to define and design the technical solution and oversee the execution of the project from the engineering standpoint from pre‑sales/budgeting until the final commissioning and production of the as‑built.

The activities will mainly focus on revamping and repowering opportunities; depending on the experience and seniority, other engineering tasks in the area of EPC/PV construction may be requested, as well as general engineering activities that will be foreseen to support the company's growth in the renewable energy sector.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following activities:

• Analyse performance and conditions of existing assets to propose potential improvements
• Support the selection of the most appropriate photovoltaic technologies
• Support the pre‑sales phase, preparing technical proposals, scope of supplies and budgets
• Implement the design of PV systems, carrying out technical reports, drawings, electrical schemes, BOM and calculations, ensuring that the deliverables are delivered on time according to the contracts
• Oversee external engineering activities
• Prepare or review technical specifications and supplier's documents to enable procurement of equipment and materials: solar panels, inverters, electrical panels, support structures, storage systems, etc. in compliance with the project design.
• Follow up the procurement of equipment and services to ensure that the specifications and the time schedule of the project are met
• Provide technical support and assistance during the construction and commissioning phase
• Monitor projects’ progress from design to implementation, ensuring that technical, regulatory, and safety requirements are met and that projects are completed within established deadlines, while meeting cost and quality standards
• Collaborate with other company divisions, such as procurement, sales, and legal, to ensure that all the technical aspects of the project are covered

Profil

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in executing engineering activities for PV sites (e.g., AC/DC electrical design, interconnection, mechanical/structural analysis, etc.) with particular focus on revamping and repowering activities and full knowledge of the electrical norms.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred, Mechanical, Civil to be evaluated on the basis of the working experience)
• Minimum 3‑5 years of significant experience in an engineering role in an EPC, construction or O&M company with particular focus on the PV industry
• Knowledge of the power distribution and LV/MV electrical design/redesign for utility‑scale PV sites
• Knowledge of electrical norms (e.g., CEI 0‑16, 64‑8, etc.)
• Knowledge of grid connection processes and experience in connection processes for PV
• Excellent skills in using MS Office products
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD
• Knowledge of electrical design software e.g., Eplan DigSilent, Amper (nice to have)
• Knowledge of PV design software: PVSyst, PVCase, etc. (nice to have)

Soft Skills:

• Good problem‑solving and organizational skills
• Proactive and target‑driven attitude, with attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
• Good interpersonal skills to positively interact with clients and suppliers

Language:

• Fluent Italian and English
