Vernay Italia is looking for a New Product Development Engineer for its location in Asti.

Reporting to the NPD Engineering Manager you will lead projects during the comprehensive development phase.

You will collaborate closely with a cross-functional internal team, suppliers, and customers to define and verify the functional product.

You will be responsible for creating and agreeing upon a project plan in line with objectives. You will translate functional customer requirements into concrete product solutions, draft product and machine specifications, and calculate cost price levels.

Simultaneously with the development phase, you will also design the production process.

You will bridge the gap between customer needs and internal operations, ensuring a correct and timely handover to the Operations department.

The role, market, and work environment are dynamic, and you will work on diverse, highly varied projects in different development phases.

Success requires a persistent and strong personality capable of managing projects in a structured manner. A high degree of customer and goal orientation is essential, along with being a solid discussion partner.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Ultimately responsible for delivering technical projects
  • International customer communication regarding project planning, progress, and technical content
  • Managing a multidisciplinary team
  • Maintaining project administration and documentation


Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

  • A completed technical education at least at a bachelor’s level (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a comparable field); additional education in Lean Six Sigma is a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a technical project environment within an (internationally operating) industrial company
  • Experience in the rubber industry.
  • Experience in automotive industry (ISO/TS 16949) or medical industry (ISO 13485).
  • A generalist with broad technical interest and strong organizational skills
  • A persuasive and proactive individual with strong communication skills and the ambition to work in a role that demands strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Leadership skills, perseverance, and creativity
  • Excellent command of English; knowledge of German is an advantage
