Job Description

Thermo Fisher's mRNA unit in Monza is seeking a Project Manager. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in project management, the ability to work in a dynamic environment, and experience leading multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute all project stages within a matrix organization, ensuring projects are completed on budget and on time. This includes product introduction, process development, scale-up, analytical method development and qualification, equipment purchase and qualification, and preparation for GMP and non-GMP activities.
  • Resolve team issues and facilitate decision-making. Drive projects to completion according to standards.
  • Hold regular meetings with leadership, technical teams, and clients. Focus on client requirements and company interests.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, report progress, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Generate key documentation such as Technology Transfer Plans, Scope Change Requests, Risk Assessments, Timelines, and Action Items.
  • Demonstrate leadership by adhering to project management standards and customer-centric behaviors.
  • Manage financial aspects, including payments, costs, and FTE estimates, ensuring projects stay on schedule and budget.
  • Collaborate with Business Management to identify new opportunities and discuss project updates with clients.
  • Contribute to process optimization, increasing savings while maintaining cGMP compliance.
  • Assist the Commercial Quotes Group in assessing technical costs for new jobs, providing necessary process and material details.

GMP & Health & Safety

  • Ensure cGMP compliance in all work areas.
  • Follow emergency procedures and safe work systems.
  • Adhere to EH&S requirements.
  • Maintain safety awareness in the workplace.
  • Education

    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a scientific / pharmaceutical field (e.g., Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biotechnology) or engineering.

    Technical Skills

  • Pharmaceutical techniques and production
  • Advanced project management and client service skills
  • Professional Experience

  • Typically 5+ years of relevant experience with a solid understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.

  • Proficiency in English with advanced written and oral communication skills.
