Mould Engineer EMEA

We are looking for a Mould Engineer for our site in Casella (Genova, Italy). Although located in Italy, the role operates in a truly regional and international context, being part of our EMEA Engineering team, spread across France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
You will be required to travel from time to time across the region. In this role, you will oversee the full technical sourcing process for injection moulds: from plastic part design all the way to delivering an operational mould within Aliaxis manufacturing facilities, ensuring all design requirements are met, the part’s manufacturability is optimised, and the selected mould solutions align with both performance and cost objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical input to product development or product management for ensuring a design that meets performance and manufacturability criteria.
- Prepare technical specifications for mould sourcing implicating collaboration with Procurement to provide technical input for mould supplier selection and participate on technical reviews with suppliers.
- Lead mould sourcing process: provide technical mould design input to supplier, approve mould design review, obtain mould quotations from the suppliers selected, follow up regular technical reviews with supplier.
- Participate in project meetings providing insight and escalation regarding mould aspects. Track and report regularly the mould(s) status and progress.
- Participate in mould commissioning collaborating with process and manufacturing engineers.
- Validate and qualify new moulds, ensuring they meet quality standards and production requirements.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities across EMEA and/or global.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in mould design, tool steels and injection moulding technologies.
- Solid understanding of mould manufacturing and plastic injection processes.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Experience working in international, multi‑country environments, ideally within a matrix organisation.
- Strong sense of ownership, rigor, and technical reliability.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple technical topics and timelines.
- Comfortable interacting with suppliers, conducting technical reviews, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in English – any additional European language is a plus.
