Middle Office Trade Officer – Associate

We are looking for a Middle Office Trade Officer at Associate level to join our Trade Finance team at the Italian branch of an international investment bank. If you are detail-oriented, motivated, and thrive in a dynamic and international environment, this could be the right opportunity for you.

The Role You will become part of the Middle Office Trade Finance team, where you will manage international trade finance transactions and services provided to our clients. You will act as the central point of coordination across all operational phases, from the initial request through to the completion of each transaction.

You will work closely with our clients and with multiple departments across the bank: the Back Office (both local and centralized in Paris), Finance & Accounting, Credit Risk, Compliance, and Front Office teams. This role will give you a comprehensive view of international banking business.

What You Will Do Your primary responsibility will be the management of bank guarantees in all their forms:

International and domestic guarantees: you will issue, amend, and cancel guarantees in accordance with applicable regulations

Guarantee types and structures: you will work with demand guarantees, suretyships, standby letters of credit (SBLC), commercial and financial guarantees — both direct and indirect, bilateral or syndicated

Financial monitoring: you will manage fee collections and payments, reconciling client accounts with our internal systems

Portfolio management: you will continuously monitor the client portfolio to ensure compliance and operational efficiency

Client support: you will provide direct assistance to our clients, addressing their queries and facilitating their operations

You will coordinate all these activities by interfacing with centralized Back Office platforms and various departments across the bank, always ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Required Skills Technical knowledge:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office

Experience and a keen interest in Trade Finance and bank guarantees. 3-5 years of experience required

Languages:

English: excellent level (written and spoken) — essential

Working hours: Full time (37 hours per week)

Salary: gross annual salary starting from €50.000, commensurate with experience
