Middle Office Specialist

Intermonte SIM, part of the Banca Generali Group, is an investment firm active in brokerage, advisory and financial research, with a strong focus on equities, derivatives and structured products.

The role will join the Global Markets – Middle Office team, focusing on operational, control and support activities related to derivatives and complex financial instruments. The position ensures correct execution, accounting and reconciliation of transactions, as well as compliance with regulatory and internal procedures.

The role will be responsible for the following activities:

Trade & Transaction Management

• Management, control and monitoring of transactions on financial instruments and derivatives
• Verification of executed trades, including confirmations, matching and transaction validation
• Support in managing transactions on regulated and OTC markets

Operational Management of Derivative Transactions

• Operational management of derivative transactions
• Monitoring of financial flows and settlement processes
• Support to clearing and settlement activities through clearing houses (e.g. CC&G, LCH, Eurex)

Accounting & Administrative Management

• Accounting entries for financial and derivative transactions
• Management of accruals, financial revenues and economic flows
• Support with accounting and financial reconciliation activities

Reconciliation and Controls

• Reconciliation of positions and balances with counterparties, clearing houses and custodians
• Control of operational data and management of discrepancies
• Oversight of internal control processes and first-level controls

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

• Support in the preparation of regulatory and operational reports
• Verification of data accuracy in line with applicable regulations
• Collaboration with Compliance, Risk Management and Audit functions

Interaction with Internal & External Stakeholders

• Daily interaction with Front Office, Risk Management, Compliance and Finance
• Operational relationships with brokers, counterparties and external providers

Requirements

• Degree in Economics, Finance, Management Engineering or related fields
• At least 4–5 years of experience in Middle Office / Back Office roles on financial instruments and derivatives
• Solid knowledge of financial instruments, with a strong focus on derivatives
• Familiarity with trade processing, settlement, reconciliation and accounting processes
• Good knowledge of market applications and banking operating systems
• Good command of the English language

Nice to have

• Experience in Global Markets or Investment Banking environments
• Knowledge of clearing and settlement processes through clearing houses
• Knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g. EMIR, MiFID, regulatory reporting)
• Advanced use of Excel and data analysis tool
• Contractual knowledge of ISDA, CSA and CTA
