The Opportunity
We are seeking a Merchant Risk Specialist, part of the 2nd Line of Defence Risk in Worldline Merchant Services Italia. The primary responsibilities include overseeing the risk management framework for merchant risk and managing the Risk Data Analyst to ensure data quality.
Under the supervision of the local Chief Risk Officer, the Merchant Risk Manager addresses merchant risks such as credit, fraud, payment schemes, and integrity, ensuring alignment with the company's risk / reward strategy.
The role involves contributing to the design and oversight of risk reporting tools for merchant portfolio management, transforming transaction data into insights, dashboards, and KRIs.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product teams, operations, data engineers, and risk experts to develop merchant risk projects from inception to completion.
Governance & Policies
- Oversee the Merchant Risk Policy Framework.
- Contribute to policy development and ensure effective implementation by operational teams.
- Manage escalation processes for underwriting and acceptance decisions.
- Contribute to the Merchant Risk Appetite Statement and monitor KRIs.
- Develop risk assessment scorecards and undertake special risk projects.
- Develop risk monitoring standards and KPIs.
- Ensure timely and quality risk reports for management.
- Perform controls within risk processes.
- Document business requirements for risk reporting solutions.
- Support the design and maintenance of risk data management systems.
- Coordinate risk data initiatives, including data quality and governance.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with analytics experts and build relationships with sales, account managers, and risk teams.
- Support operational teams with risk policies and training.
- Stay updated on regulatory requirements and manage internal controls and security governance.
Candidate Profile
We seek individuals with :
- At least 6 years of experience in Merchant Risk Analysis or fraud detection.
- Experience in payment services or banking is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
- Ownership, initiative, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Higher education in Economics, Finance, or related fields.
- Fluent English (B2.3 or higher).
