About the Position
The Medical Technician performs a variety of procedures and tests which individually and collectively involve difficulty and complexity and involve a number of interrelated steps. The position requires a high degree of experienced judgment to recognize technical irregularities, atypical findings, and other comparable problems. The processes require fine and precise measurements or delicate equipment control adjustments, or both. Who May Apply: US Citizens
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized experience:
One-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal Service in performing a variety of specimen collection handler and clerical functions related with clinical laboratory specimens; processing medical specimens to include infectious and bio-hazardous types; determining suitability of specimens according to criteria listed in SOPs and performing quality control procedures; entering results into multiple laboratory systems. Substitution of Education
Successfully completion a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts Testing Designation Position (TDP) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Program (CLIP) certifications are highly desirable but not required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
