Purpose

Oncology MSL is a pivotal field-based role that connects GSK to the healthcare community. This non-promotional, customer-facing position focuses on advancing clinical practice within an assigned territory to improve patient outcomes. The MSL brings deep clinical and oncology therapeutic expertise and market/landscape knowledge to engage with Healthcare Providers (HCPs) and account personnel, in alignment with GSK\'s medical strategies and plans. Key objectives include engaging with community and academic experts, facilitating scientific exchange, and serving as a medical resource to ensure healthcare providers understand unmet patient needs, evolving treatment landscape, and the benefit–risk profile of GSK medicines; supporting patient access and safe use through peer‑to‑peer discussions, improving patient outcomes and closing gaps in unmet medical needs.

Key accountabilities

  • Lead activities to progress medical strategy within the assigned territory by identifying and engaging HCPs (academic and community HCPs, Pharmacists, Physician Assistants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals) with educational needs and insights for medical plans.
  • Engage with HCPs on emerging data, clinical trials, medical unmet needs, patient barriers to access, market dynamics, and educate on disease state and product information.
  • Contribute to medical strategy by collecting and communicating medical insights throughout the product lifecycle and understanding their potential impact.
  • Demonstrate strategic territory planning and management, including identification, mapping, and planning of scientific engagements in the territory with key accounts aligned with medical strategy.
  • Support clinical trials by facilitating relevant medical activities and collaborating with Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations colleagues.
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues (Medical Affairs, marketing, commercial, sales) to ensure a customer-centric approach aligned with GSK SOPs.
  • Address the medical needs and attributes of accounts (educational needs, pathways) and maintain in-depth knowledge of therapeutic areas and GSK medicines.
  • Adhere to GSK Code of Conduct, policies and standards, and ensure compliant activities with transparency, respect, integrity, and patient focus.
  • Execute administrative responsibilities, training, and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Participate in Field Medical and cross-enterprise projects and teams supporting medical strategies and tactics.

Qualifications

  • Must reside within the territory for consideration (Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicilia, Molise; preferred domicile: Napoli, Bari).
  • Oncology experience, pharmaceutical industry, and Medical Liaison experience.
  • Doctorate level with a medical or clinical focus (Pharm D, PhD, or MD) or MS advanced science/clinical/healthcare related degree with relevant oncology experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in pharmacology and pharmacotherapy in humans with practical oncology experience.
  • Experience engaging in peer-to-peer scientific dialogue with medical professionals and decision makers.
  • Experience delivering medical-based presentations and developing scientific engagement goals.
  • Experience building relationships with external HCPs, KOLs, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage a multi-state territory with 60-75% travel.
  • Fluent in English and Italian (written and spoken). Excellent scientific written communication skills.
