  • The Role
  • The MSL (Medical Science Liaison) is focused on developing and maintaining peer-to-peer relationships with key healthcare practitioners (HCPs), pharmacy chains, and leadership of professional organizations within the defined region. The region for this role includes: Lombardy, Liguria, Veneto, and Piedmont.

    This role primarily supports the company’s mRNA platform development program at a regional level. The MSL will collaborate and communicate with physicians and other medical experts to:

    • Present scientific data on a reactive basis to HCPs or groups of HCPs
    • Implement individualized HCP Engagement Plans as appropriate
    • Respond to requests for medical information
    • Report any Adverse Events (AEs) and/or Product Quality Complaints (PQC)
    • Communicate insights gained
    • Process requests for Investigator suggested Studies (ISS)

    In certain circumstances, MSLs may also be requested to suggest HCPs interested in participating in company-sponsored studies, provide scientific training at Site Initiation Visits (SIV), and ensure clear roles and responsibilities with the Clinical Research Associate (CRA) and Medical Monitor.

  • Here's What You’ll Do
  • Develop and maintain peer-to-peer collaborations with key HCPs, initially within the vaccination community and expanding to other Moderna pipeline areas.

    Support clinical development and research initiatives as appropriate.

    Collaborate with physicians and lead Medical Affairs initiatives including publications, advisory boards, medical education, training, and speaker development.

    Serve as a scientific peer-to-peer resource to external disease experts and internal stakeholders.

    Acquire and maintain scientific knowledge in assigned therapeutic areas or disease states, interpret and disseminate clinical data, and evaluate new information relevant to therapies.

    Communicate clinical insights on new data to the Medical Affairs department to inform medical strategy.

    Train internal stakeholders on key scientific and medical topics.

    Understand the regional healthcare landscape, identify and prioritize HCPs in line with medical plans and goals.

    Maintain effective communication among internal stakeholders while ensuring compliance with all requirements.

    Generate regional plans to support the medical and scientific community aligned with company goals.

    Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of MSL activities and budget.

  • Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table
  • Advanced scientific degree required

    • MD, PhD, PharmD, or MSc

    Minimum of 4 years of experience in Medical Affairs or Medical Science roles.

    Robust clinical development experience supporting drugs for rare diseases; experience with vaccines or infectious diseases is preferred.

    Proven initiative, prioritization, and judgment skills.

    Ability to identify opportunities, gaps, or obstacles and develop innovative solutions.

    Curiosity and drive to accept new challenges positively.

    Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

    Fluency in Italian and English.

    Willingness to travel up to 75% within the assigned region.

    Valid Driver's license

    Knowledge of virtual presentation platforms, social media, and Microsoft Office Suite.
