Medical Manager (Northern Italy)
About the role
For our dynamic, growing, and innovative Brands division within an established international pharmaceutical company, we are seeking an experienced Medical Affairs professional. This role is ideal for someone who is willing to think outside the traditional pharma MSL framework and operate independently in an entrepreneurial manner. The position offers the opportunity to develop broadly by engaging in all aspects of the business and managing your own daily activities.
You will be part of a team of 2 Medical Managers in Italy, responsible for developing and executing Medical Affairs strategies and projects. You will also support Sales and Marketing colleagues, requiring a demonstrable ability to recognize commercial opportunities. Candidates must reside in Italy and speak English to communicate with the European Management team, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. You will report to the Lead Medical Managers Europe.
Major tasks & responsibilities
- Develop and implement Medical Affairs strategies and scientific projects, including publications and advisory boards.
- Build and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and influencers in the scientific and healthcare communities, based on scientific evidence.
- Support the development and launch of products through scientific exchange, particularly in melanoma.
- Assist with Early Access Program requests from HCPs in Italy for melanoma patients.
- Provide business support for Italian marketing, commercial, and market access activities related to Odomzo (sonidegib) for basal cell carcinoma.
- Lead the approval process for investigator-initiated trials and monitor their progress.
- Disseminate clinical and scientific information about marketed and pipeline products in a timely, compliant, and ethical manner.
- Establish and support networks in Derma-oncology and other therapeutic areas.
- Communicate emerging data to experts and respond to healthcare professional inquiries.
- Assist colleagues in organizing HCP events by providing medical content support.
Education Qualifications (Graduate-Post Graduate)
- Mandatory: (Bio)medical or scientific academic degree.
- Driver’s license.
Work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an MSL or Medical Manager in the innovative pharmaceutical industry.
- At least 1 year of experience in a commercial role within the same industry.
- Native Italian speaker and fluent in English.
- Desirable: Experience in Dermatology or Oncology.
- Desirable: Experience with Early Access Programs in Italy.
