Tyvak International is seeking talented new team members to support the development of advanced space vehicles. Tyvak specializes in the development and integration of key components and technologies into highly integrated, high-performance Small Satellite platforms. The team’s expertise spans system architecture, design, manufacturing, and testing of mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems for small spacecraft.

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Area Manager to lead the Mechanical Engineering team within our organization. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating mechanical design and development activities across multiple programs, while managing resources, priorities, and team performance.

The role combines technical ownership across the full mechanical lifecycle with team leadership and operational coordination, in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Mechanical Engineers, ensuring effective collaboration, productivity, and professional growth.
  • Allocate resources and assign tasks across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with program priorities and deadlines.
  • Act as the primary interface for mechanical activities, managing incoming requests, prioritization, and escalation when needed.
  • Oversee the full mechanical development lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, structural analysis, manufacturing support, testing, and documentation.
  • Drive the development of mechanical solutions for spacecraft systems, collaborating closely with systems, electrical, AIT, and launch teams.
  • Ensure high-quality design outputs, including 3D models, drawings, assembly procedures, and test plans.
  • Support design reviews and provide technical guidance on complex mechanical challenges and non-conformances.
  • Define and promote best practices in mechanical design, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.
  • Monitor team performance through KPIs and ensure adherence to company standards, processes, and timelines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve team efficiency, tools, and workflows, contributing to the growth and scalability of the Mechanical Engineering function.

Requisiti minimi

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design within the aerospace or high-tech industry
  • Previous experience in technical leadership or team coordination roles
  • Strong background in mechanical design and development of complex hardware systems
  • Proficiency in CAD and analysis tools (e.g., SolidWorks, MSC Nastran/Patran or equivalent)
  • Experience across the full product lifecycle: requirements, design, analysis, manufacturing, integration, and testing
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex technical challenges
  • Experience working with flight hardware and controlled environments (e.g., cleanroom)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide and mentor team members
  • Fluent English is mandatory

Salary and benefits are EU market competitive and include Welfare, Benefits, Private Insurance, Flexible working Hours.

The gross annual salary (RAL) will be commensurate with the candidate's level of seniority, expertise, and overall contribution to the role, ensuring a fair and competitive package.
