Mechanical Engineer

Valmont Solar | Convert Italia SpA, a global leader in solar tracker technology, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and validation of mechanical systems for our tracker portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and product documentation.
• Design and optimize mechanical components and assemblies for solar trackers.
• Perform mechanical calculations to ensure safety, durability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production and industrialization teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with quality standards.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities (lab and field).
• Drive continuous improvement of existing designs to enhance performance and reduce costs.
• Monitor developments in materials, processes, and mechanical engineering relevant to tracker technology.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in industrial sectors.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (3D modeling, technical drawings) and FEA tools.
• Knowledge of materials and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with mechanical standards/certifications.
• Background in design-to-cost and design-to-manufacture methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience in prototyping and field testing.
• Ability to perform structural calculations to ensure safety, durability, and efficiency.
• Knowledge of structural analysis.
• Familiarity with structural standards/certifications.
