About the Role:


The selected candidate will join the Technical Department and will be involved in the mechanical design and development of systems and equipment for flue gas treatment plants serving the steel, cement, and waste-to-energy sectors.

The role requires autonomous management of design and modeling activities — from the preliminary phase to the executive project — ensuring full compliance with contractual technical specifications and company standards.


Key Responsibilities


  • Analyze and interpret contractual technical specifications and customer requirements.
  • Develop basic and detailed engineering for the plant or specific components.
  • Perform 3D modeling using Autodesk Inventor and produce 2D drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) and verify weight budgets.
  • Coordinate technical activities with internal departments (Project Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Purchasing, Workshop, Site Team).
  • Manage technical interfaces with external engineering firms, suppliers, and customers.
  • Conduct site visits for surveys, measurements, and data collection.
  • Participate in technical and project coordination meetings.
  • Check and validate technical deliverables produced by collaborators or external consultants.
  • Support workshop and site teams in resolving technical issues.
  • Manage technical documentation flows in accordance with company procedures and contractual requirements.


Requirements


  • Technical diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
  • Previous experience in plant engineering/flue gas treatment systems (steel, cement, waste-to-energy).
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (3D modeling) and AutoCAD (2D drafting).
  • Good knowledge of English (minimum: basic/intermediate level).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret structural and piping drawings.
  • Basic ability to interpret P&ID diagrams.
  • Availability for short business trips in Italy and abroad.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with complex plants, end users, or EPC companies.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards: EN 1090, EN ISO 14122, EN ISO 12944, EN ISO 1461, EN 10204.
  • Basic knowledge of PLM/PDM systems for technical document management.
