The Engineering division or Randstad, specializing in the recruitment of profile within the technical, production, and engineering sectors, is currently seeking a Mechanical/Design Engineer for a leading company in the defense industry . Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and enclosures for aerospace and defense systems - Create 3D models and detailed 2D drawings using CAD tools (e.g., CATIA V5, Creo) with GD&T and ISO/MIL standards - Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and configuration data in PLM/PDM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, SAP PLM) - Support thermal and structural analysis activities; provide inputs for FEM simulations and consolidate results - Author interface control documentation and manufacturing drawings; ensure compliance with DFM/DFA principles - Collaborate in concurrent engineering with electrical, avionics, and systems teams to ensure design integrity and producibility - Participate in design reviews (PDR/CDR), track actions, and implement feedback - Manage configuration control, ECR/ECO processes, and maintain traceability of design changes - Contribute to qualification and integration activities; support assembly fit checks and troubleshooting - Ensure adherence to aerospace standards, quality requirements, HSE policies, and information security protocols Skills and Education: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline - Proven experience in mechanical design for electromechanical or aerospace products - Proficiency with 3D CAD and 2D drafting tools (CATIA V5 preferred); knowledge of GD&T and ISO/MIL drawing standards - Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems for BOM and configuration management - Basic understanding of thermal and structural analysis workflows; ability to interpret FEM results - Knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and design-for-manufacturing principles - Strong documentation skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools - Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken) Plus Skills: - Experience with FEM tools (Ansys, Altair, Siemens Simcenter) and thermal/structural analysis - Knowledge of additive manufacturing and topology optimization principles - Familiarity with REACH/RoHS compliance and aerospace certification standards (DO-160, EN 9100) - Exposure to optical or electromechanical systems and precision alignment techniques - Experience with CAM/CMM processes and metrology - Understanding of configuration/change management processes and quality frameworks - Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills; ability to work in multidisciplinary environments This position is offered on a project-based contract .
