About the role
We are looking for a Material Specialist to join our Research & Development team in Milan. The role is focused on the development and industrialization of innovative materials and compounds for truck tyre applications , working at the intersection of laboratory research, industrial processes, and supplier collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical interface with raw material suppliers , supporting material selection, validation, and innovation.
- Perform chemical and physical characterization of raw materials and compounds, using advanced laboratory methodologies and technologies.
- Develop compounds for truck tyre applications , managing the process from laboratory development through industrialization.
- Carry out reverse engineering activities , analyzing competitor products to assess strengths, weaknesses, and market positioning.
- Read, interpret, and contribute to technical patents related to innovative materials for tyre applications.
- Work in close collaboration with Procurement, Quality, Industrialization, Product Development, and Testing teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the Materials R&D area.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Chemistry or a PhD in a related field.
- Experience in the chemical or polymer industry .
- Strong knowledge of chemical reactions, synthesis, and material characterization techniques .
- Good command of the MS Office suite .
- Fluency in Italian and English .
- Knowledge of Chinese is considered a plus.
- Pragmatic and flexible, comfortable working across HQ and industrial plant environments .
- Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Innovative mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
