Posizione:
We are looking for a Materials Coordinator & Researcher who is highly organized, curious, and proactive, with a strong interest in materials, technology, and sustainability. The role is central to the Studio’s design process, acting as the main point of reference for materials knowledge, research, and coordination, supporting both internal design teams and external suppliers.
The position is responsible for the development and management of the Materials Library (ML) and its digital database, ensuring continuous updates and accessibility, and contributing to material research and innovation within the practice.
The role reports to Project Directors and designated Partners.
The role will involve a range of activities including:
- Organize and continuously update the Materials Library with samples related to projects developed by the studio
- Organize and update the Materials Library with sample collections from leading manufacturers, through meetings with suppliers both in the studio and at showrooms
- Maintain and update the digital database of suppliers and materials
- Ensure the Materials Library is consistently accessible and kept orderly after presentations, project reviews, and meetings
- Provide guidance to designers on the research, consultation, use, loan, and return of materials, samples, and sample books
- Support design teams in the selection of materials, products, and companies for projects, proposing alternatives and different solutions
- Assist designers in collecting technical and qualitative data on materials, products, and companies used in projects, including for moodboards and project presentations
- Develop and implement the digital Materials Library database, documenting samples used in projects and materials that are particularly relevant to the studio
- Conduct ongoing research into new materials, technologies, applications, and sustainable solutions
- Collect content for a monthly internal newsfeed focused on new materials, technology, sustainability, and key industry events
- 2-5 years of experience
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to perform well under pressure
- Positive, flexible, supportive, and enthusiastic attitude
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Ability to work effectively in an informal and dynamic workplace
