Role Overview

As an experienced and passionate marketer with commercial acumen, brand building flair and great interpersonal skills, you will drive and oversee the marketing activities supporting the company's growth in Italy. As the brand custodian, P&L owner and key marketing point of contact for your markets, your role will involve brand planning, activation, innovation and marketing and communication development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy and business acumen (P&L): based on an analysis of systemic information and consideration of resources, market drivers, organizational values, and emerging economic conditions, figure out a strategic long‑term plan and inject the culture of disruption into our strategic planning process.
  • Evaluate new product categories to play; launch new brands from scratch; brand stretching expertise.
  • Planning & activation: drive understanding of category dynamics, consumer behaviors and competitive environment to provide marketing input at all stages of the brand lifecycle; analyse market trends and drive actionable insight to identify opportunities and corrective actions that maximise sell‑out.
  • Champion digital activation and media (own‑earned‑paid); champion traditional media activation.
  • Own and fully manage your brand P&L, report on P&L KPI performance monthly and recommend corrective actions and opportunities to maximise sales and profitability.
  • Develop and execute 12‑18‑month marketing and media plans in your markets; define brand campaign and trade promotional calendar in line with business objectives, strategies and brand guidelines.
  • Lead post‑campaign analysis and marketing effectiveness review efforts to verify ROI and optimise brand support model; share best practice with the wider regional and global teams.
  • Work with Sales to drive retailer engagement in brand plans and ensure flawless trade activation.
  • Innovation and innovation strategy: identify and evaluate the potential of local opportunities for innovation to contribute to influencing the regional and global innovation pipeline; lead localisation of regional and global innovation initiatives; develop and execute flawless NPD launches in your markets.
  • Lead the development of marketing assets, the management of brand sponsorship and partnership agreements in your markets together with local agencies, ensuring adherence to global brand equity; act as a brand champion, ensuring brand equity and guidelines are upheld in all communications.
  • Lead consumer understanding and market landscape research.
  • People management: manage your direct reports in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable regulations; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance, guide professional development, reward and guide employees; address employee relations issues and resolve problems.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Marketing or business degree.
  • 8‑10+ years marketing experience in an FMCG or Healthcare environment.
  • Solid experience of in‑market brand / product marketing / digital across all elements of the marketing mix.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop local brand strategy and plans.
  • Experience in communication development and media planning across multiple channels.
  • Excellent understanding of cross‑functional working to deliver products to market.

Languages

  • Native / bilingual Italian speaker.
  • Fluency in English.
