For a leading Italian company in the offshore Oil & Gas and maritime services sector, we are looking for a:
MARINE TECHNICAL SUPERINTENDENT
The candidate shall be assigned to the Fleet Technical department to:
▪ Supervise machinery and systems operations and monitor the conditions of the vessels from an engineering aspect and in respect of the regulations (ISM, Classification society and other relevant or applicable industrial standards of the sector, operating manuals and good practice).
▪ Analyze nature and causes of breakdowns and damages.
▪ Brief crew on organizational policies, documentation, and procedures.
▪ Verify the execution of regular and planned maintenance of machinery and systems.
▪ Consult with manufacturers for specialist advice and guidance.
▪ Coordinate with service engineers and contractors.
▪ Monitor ship defect list, work and operate with crew and technical teams to rectify and reduce malfunctioning or machinery downtimes.
▪ Prepare works specifications and evaluate tenders.
▪ Superintend the vessel during maintenance and dry dock (Italy or abroad)
▪ Keep control of ships’ requisitions and following purchases/shipments of spares parts or consumables.
The candidate will report directly to the Head of the Technical Department.
Skills
▪ Previous experience in this role is required (as Ch. Engineer)
▪ Clear communication in Italian and English required, knowledge of French is considered a plus.
▪ Able to operate Microsoft Windows, Excel etc.
▪ Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad also for long periods.
