Responsibilities
- Promote implementation and ensure application of management policies and procedures relating to safety, security, environment and nautical on board the fleet and ensure adoption and use of related management programs.
- Propose updates and revisions to safety manuals and procedures to the Safety & Nautical Operations Manager.
- Ensure that training and information requirements are met for all personnel on board to ensure correct application of rules and procedures.
- Carry out first‑level inspection visits to verify application of relevant procedures.
- Report any needs regarding safety, security, environment, deck and bridge instruments, equipment and systems, submitting them to the Safety & Nautical Operations Manager.
- Implement corrective actions identified by government visits, internal and external audits and ship inspections, as required by company’s non‑conformity management procedure.
- Ensure that assigned vessels are correctly informed of any updated, new or repealed regulations regarding safety, security, environment and nautical matters.
Qualifications
- Qualification as First Officer and/or Engineer, or degree in Nautical and Aeronautical Sciences or Naval Engineering.
- At least 3 years of prior experience in a similar role.
- Good knowledge of English language (B2).
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
