Manufacturing Manager –
Gessate Plant
A leading industrial
company operating in the steel sector is seeking a Manufacturing Manager for
its production plant located in Gessate.
The selected candidate
will report directly to the Operations Director Italy (who is also the Plant
Director of Gessate) and will be part of the plant leadership team.
This role represents a strategic
link within the organisation, acting as a direct connection between production
activity managers and plant management, with the aim of ensuring efficient
production processes and achieving "right first time" results.
Role
Purpose
To manage and organise
the production processes of the plant, leading a team of 5 managers and over 80
employees, and contributing actively to the industrial leadership of the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire production cycle,
ensuring quality, on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and workplace safety. - Optimise processes and production systems,
promoting the adoption of best practices. - Lead, motivate, and support the production
team through coaching and continuous training. - Plan and monitor production schedules to
meet both business and customer requirements. - Track and analyse KPIs, implementing
corrective actions to enhance performance. - Collaborate with other business functions
to improve productivity and operational innovation. - Foster a stable, safe, and compliant
working environment. - Conduct regular performance evaluations,
providing feedback and development plans. - Focus on margin optimisation and
operational efficiency improvement.
Skills and Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
(equivalent to a Master's degree or V.O. degree). - Solid experience (minimum 10 years) in
production management and cost control, preferably in structured
industrial environments. - Excellent command of English, both written
and spoken. - Strong IT skills, including MS Office and
ERP systems. - Availability to travel; valid driving
licence. - Experience in technologically advanced
and/or sustainable sectors (e.g. automotive) will be considered an asset. - Proven track record in managing complex
production teams. - Excellent leadership, results orientation, problem-solving,
and change management skills. - Strong commitment to safety, quality, and
continuous improvement. - Effective communication and interpersonal
skills, able to engage with all organisational levels. - Well-structured and organised working
approach, with the ability to operate autonomously and lead teams towards
goals. - Integrity, professional ethics, and a
strong sense of responsibility.
