Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on and technically strong Manufacturing Engineer to take ownership of our injection molding production cells in a cleanroom environment.

This role is responsible for the full understanding, performance, and troubleshooting of each work cell (press, mold, automation, and auxiliary equipment). The Manufacturing Engineer acts as the primary escalation point for complex production issues and leads structured problem-solving activities across functions.

The position works in close collaboration with the Molding Engineer, ensuring a clear separation between process/system ownership and mold design/modification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deeply understand each production work cell, including injection presses, molds, robots, and auxiliary systems
  • Document and maintain knowledge of how and why each system is configured and programmed
  • Ensure process stability, repeatability, and compliance with cleanroom and quality standards
  • Act as the main escalation point for technical issues not solvable by shift technicians or maintenance
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis using a structured and data-driven approach
  • Optimize process performance (cycle time, scrap reduction, OEE, efficiency)
  • Define and maintain standard process parameters and machine settings
  • Support production during start-ups, changeovers, and critical deviations

Mold-related coordination:

  • Identify when issues are mold-related vs process-related
  • Trigger mold intervention when required
  • Coordinate mold removal and transfer to toolshop
  • Support the Molding Engineer in defining required mechanical modifications
  • Collaborate with automation suppliers and equipment vendors for improvements and issue resolution
  • Support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) and process documentation
  • Train production teams on process standards and troubleshooting basics
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering
  • 3–6 years of experience in plastic injection molding
  • Strong understanding of injection molding processes and production systems
  • Experience with automation (robots, handling systems, auxiliaries)
  • Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to read technical drawings and understand mechanical interventions
  • Experience in cleanroom or regulated environments is a plus
  • Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills
  • Fluent in English

Key Competencies

  • System thinking and ownership mindset
  • Structured problem solving
  • Hands-on technical approach
  • Ability to work under pressure in production environments
  • Strong collaboration across teams

What We Offer:

  • Competitive compensation package including performance-based incentives.
  • The backing of a global leader with the agility of a start-up
  • Possibility to make an impact in our rapidly expanding Mirandola Plant
