DHL Cross-Border Solutions is seeking a highly experienced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial Managing Director to lead our Sales, Operations, IT, and Customer Service teams in Italy, while closely cooperating with the Finance team. This is a senior leadership position that offers the opportunity to drive business growth and innovation within the rapidly expanding cross-border eCommerce sector.
DHL Cross-Border Solutions is part of DHL eCommerce, the newest member of the DHL family. Our mission is to become a European leader in cross-border parcel delivery by developing customized shipping solutions for international eCommerce customers.
As a Managing Director, you will be responsible for driving strategic development, managing daily operations, and leading a diverse team to deliver strong business results while ensuring a high level of employee engagement and operational compliance. You will shape the future of our Cross-border eCommerce Services in Italy, including logistics solutions, for clients across various industries.
Key Requirements
- Leadership Experience: Minimum 10 years in a senior management or executive role, with proven leadership skills in a cross-functional environment.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: A visionary leader who can identify future business opportunities and drive innovation.
- eCommerce & Logistics Expertise: Strong knowledge of the eCommerce logistics field and experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong financial and commercial awareness, with the ability to analyze complex issues and make data-driven decisions.
- Communication Skills: Fluent in Italian and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong presentation and negotiation capabilities.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven experience in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Sales & Performance Orientation: Experience in sales steering, with a focus on driving performance and achieving business targets.
- Change Management: Ability to manage change and implement improvements across diverse teams and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement business strategies to support the growth of the Cross Border Solutions (CBS) business unit in Italy, aligning with global objectives.
- Profit Management: Oversee financial performance and take responsibility for budgeting, cost control, and revenue generation.
- Team Leadership: Lead a diverse team of 20-30 professionals across Sales, IT, Operations, Customer Service, and Finance. Recruit, develop, and retain top talent while fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
- Business Development: Explore and capitalize on growth opportunities within the Cross-border eCommerce space, driving the development of new solutions and services.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including other DHL divisions, clients, and external partners.
- Process Optimization: Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and service quality.
