The Team
A&M is seeking an experienced People Manager to support our Italian practice, based in our Milan office. This role offers the opportunity to join our Global People Organisation (GPO) and play a key part in supporting our ambitious growth plans.
The ideal candidate will be a fluent Italian and English speaker with strong People generalist expertise and an advanced understanding of employment legislation across Italy. We are looking for a driven, collaborative, and hands‑on professional with experience in organisations of 200+ employees undergoing growth.
Reporting to the EMEA People Lead, you will partner closely with teams and leadership across the business, overseeing all People activities and cases for Italy. As part of the broader People Team, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to initiatives and provide support across other EMEA jurisdictions.
How you will contribute
- Business Partnership: Build a deep understanding of your business areas to deliver effective advisory, operational support and contribute to longer‑term strategic initiatives.
- Benefits & Rewards: Partner with EMEA Total Rewards team on competitive and compliant benefits strategies, including statutory requirements, parental leave, and childcare support. Collaborate closely with Operations and Payroll on the ongoing management of all benefit initiatives and processes.
- Employment Law & Compliance: Ensure compliance with local labour laws, industry standards and organizational policies, mitigating legal and operational risk. Provide expert guidance on local legislation and its implications. Ensure correct application of employment contracts during hiring and throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Draft employment contracts and related documentation, maintain contract templates to ensure they remain up to date with local legislation, liaise with local legal counsel where required, and collaborate with the Global Contracts team to ensure consistency and best practice.
- Employee Relations: Act as the local People resource for employees, advising on all People‑related matters including performance, sickness, and terminations, engaging local employment counsel and partnering with regional People BPs and Employee Relations teams as needed.
- Employee Lifecycle Management: Working closely with Operations, oversee all aspects including onboarding, benefits administration, work permits, and visa processing, etc. Coordinate exit interviews and prepare reference letters to ensure a positive offboarding experience.
- People Programs: Execute on key people programs and projects in partnership with the regional and global teams. This will include key talent development and cultural aspects such as learning, performance development and inclusive diversity.
- Collaboration & Advocacy: Partner with colleagues to ensure consistency and best practice across People processes. Act as an ambassador for the People Team, representing its values and commitment to service excellence.
- Data & Insights: Produce, analyse, and share People data to identify trends, address challenges, and recommend improvements.
- Foster a culture aligned with A&M’s global vision and values, focusing the organization’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and innovation tailored to the local work environment.
Qualifications
- Self‑motivated, disciplined professional with strong analytical skills and a passion for process improvement. · Proven People experience within corporate or professional services environments.
- Fluent in Italian and English; additional language skills are an advantage.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and engage confidently with senior management.
- Solid knowledge of Italian labour law.
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to foster strong working relationships.
- High attention to detail with a flexible, solutions‑focused approach.
- Experience with People systems such as Workday is desirable but not essential.
