Chaberton Professionals, a division of Chaberton Partners dedicated to the research and selection of Middle Management profiles, is currently looking for a Manager, Medical Communications for a pharmaceutical company.
The Manager, Medical Communications is responsible for the planning, coordination and
content development of medical communications and education programs. These may include, but
are not limited to, publications, congress-related activities, and advisory board/expert panel
meetings. In addition, the position-holder is responsible for receipt of educational grants and
participation in the grant committee.
Activities
- Plan and coordinate medical communication and education activities with Medical colleagues and Marketing teams.
- Prepare and edit abstracts and posters for congress presentations and manuscripts for journal publication; plan symposia, advisory boards, etc.
- Develop scientific materials including presentations, book chapters, tables, diagrams and charts.
- Manage projects and vendors to ensure timely and accurate deliverables within established budget.
- Perform quality reviews of content/materials before release.
- Engage healthcare professionals to participate in medical communications/education programs and coordinate logistics.
- Initiate and manage vendor contracts and consultancy agreements.
- Provide status reports to the department head for ongoing projects, including timelines, criticalities and potential issues.
- Participate in cross-functional teams including, but not limited to, modality Working Group meetings, Grant committee and Global Investigator Initiated Research Committee.
- Maintain compliance with GM&RA SOPs, policies and regulations and guidelines governing interactions with healthcare professionals and medical communications and educational activities.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry or medical communications agency, with at least 2 years in preparing, reviewing and delivering scientific content
- Experience in writing scientific manuscripts and abstracts; creating scientific presentations; managing program logistics for advisory board meetings and faculty.
- Experience with scientific web-based platforms (e.g., PubMed, ProQuest); retrieve references; summarize and tabulate data.
- Experience in Diagnostics Imaging (cardiac ultrasound, nuclear medicine, CT, MRI) preferred.
Education
BA/BS degree in Life Sciences; M.S., PhD or PharmD preferred.
Travel: domestic and international travel may be required.
Location: the position is based in Milan (hybrid)
