Machinery & Packages Engineer

Mission

• Determine and select machinery and packages in compliance with technological, technical, contractual and economic requirements, in coordination with the Machinery/Packages Project Leader;
• Prepare the project specification, the material requisition (M.R.) and the technical evaluation;
• Follow the supply development, maintaining the necessary technical contacts with vendors and accepting the final documentation;
• Participate (where considered necessary by the Head of Department) in the most important phases of construction, testing, assembly and start-up;
• Provide assistance to the Team Leaders, when requested, for the machines and packages they manage directly;
• Provide discipline support and input to other discipline for the detail activities;
• Keep up to date with market solutions and technologies.

Main Activities & Responsibilities

During project execution, the main activities under the responsibility of a Machinery & Packages Engineer are the following:

• Bidding phase activities: understanding of codes and standards; issue of material requisitions (M.R.) for cost estimation and inquiries; offer tabulation and technical evaluation;
• Basic engineering activities: preparation of mechanical data sheets and material requisitions;
• Detailed engineering and procurement support activities: initial general activities; preparation of general specifications and forms; preparation of RFQ data sheets; preparation of material requisitions for bid inquiries; technical bid tabulation and evaluation; issue of M.R. for purchase orders; review of vendor drawings and documents, assistance during plant erection;
• Participation in kick-off meetings, design reviews, and meetings with the client;

Requirements

• The candidate shall have 3 to 5 years of experience in machinery and/or packages engineering within EPC, Oil & Gas, Energy or industrial projects.

Scope

The position covers both:

• Machinery (e.g. pumps, compressors, turbines, rotating equipment, mechanical equipment)
• Packages / Packaged Units (e.g. skids, integrated units, packaged systems)

Personal Attributes:

• degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Fluent English speaker and writer
• Availability to travel for short period in Italy and abroad
• Adaptability, entrepreneurship and working with method
• Highly motivated, team-oriented, and proactive approach to challenges is a must
