Overview
Reporting to the Site Team Manager; Newbuild and Commissioning, this position is in charge of the Owner’s supervision of the shipyard, contractors/suppliers and quality of all commissioned deliverables related to Machinery and Engineering equipment, systems and installations.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Marine and/or technical Engineering (Chief Engineer STCW code unlimited power)
Cruise industry experience
Minimum of 5 years onboard as Engineer on a diesel electric propulsion Cruise vessel
Minimum of 5 years experience Shoreside as superintendent/inspector or similar Cruise vessel newbuild and operations experience
USPH standards knowledge
USCG and Port State Control Standards knowledge
Experience/understanding of Classification rules & regulations USPH and all relevant regulations relating to vessel newbuilding and operations requirements
Skilled in reading, reviewing and commenting on detailed design, calculations that support engineering system dimensioning, technical documentation and drawings
Key Responsibilities
Deep expertise within Shipyard Machinery and Engineering equipment, systems, installation and commissioning
Shipyard relationship management
Contract and Supplier management; Quality Control
Experience managing systems, installations, safety awareness of equipment and system design, associated technical systems related to guests
Working with main engines, all primary systems related to ship movement, stabilization and steering
Boilers, economizers, incinerators, wastewater systems, cooling water systems, pumps and plumbing systems
Fuel and lube oil systems
UREA and SCR systems
Hydraulic systems
Ventilation and exhaust systems
You will be working between shipyards and the new build. Must be able to walk shipyards to new build. Must be able to lift up to 20KG.
