About the Role
The Rebuilding & Modernization Engineer works within the Customer Service Department and is responsible for rebuilding and modernization activities on automatic packaging machines installed at customer sites. The role aims to extend the lifecycle of the installed base by improving machine performance, reliability, safety, and technological level, ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze the technical condition of installed machines and define rebuilding and modernization solutions.
- Develop and manage rebuilding interventions (mechanical, electrical, and software) to restore or enhance machine performance.
- Execute modernization projects, including:
- format and component upgrades
- functional improvements and addition of options
- management of technological obsolescence
- automation and HMI digital upgrades
- Prepare and update technical documentation following rebuilding or modernization activities (manuals, drawings, electrical schematics, BOMs).
- Provide technical support during execution, installation, testing, and commissioning phases, both remotely and on site.
- Collaborate with Customer Service Sales to ensure technical consistency between offer, order confirmation, and execution.
- Ensure that all machine modifications comply with applicable directives, standards, and internal procedures.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Technical studies in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Automation, Electrical , or similar.
- Experience with automatic machinery and industrial automation , preferably in After Sales, Rebuilding, or Modernization activities.
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation .
- Knowledge of automation systems (PLC, HMI, industrial components) is a plus.
- Structured problem-solving approach and technical analytical mindset; a proactive and continuous improvement mindset.
- Customer-oriented attitude and strong service mindset.
- Proficiency in English ; additional languages are a plus.
- Availability to travel when required.
