Overview
Machine Learning Engineer role at Humanitas in Rozzano, IT, 20089. The candidate should have strong formalization skills to convert stakeholders' needs into verifiable hypotheses to deliver improved clinical services.
Responsibilities
- Develop models to answer clinical questions with evidence in an R&D setting using structured and unstructured data from the electronic health record.
- Routinely interface with clinical stakeholders to evaluate KPI, update the modeling strategy and course-correct unverified hypotheses.
- Develop libraries to share with the team and leverage existing ones.
- Collaborate with the Humanitas AI Center and external partners on cross-academic research projects.
- Retrieve and query data from distributed architecture databases.
- Perform exploratory data analysis on clinical data.
- Design innovative algorithms and data analysis to discover and assess significant dynamics and patterns from complex data.
- Explore, define and support the validation of statistical and machine learning models to obtain useful tools for biomedical applications.
- Create and iterate scalable computational models to apply theoretical findings to real-world data.
Qualifications
- Master in a STEM-related field.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Italian.
- Strong scripting and programming skills in Python.
- Excellent statistical knowledge.
- Experience with Data Management, Data integration, data transformation (ETL).
- Strong experience with pre-processing and exploratory data analysis on clinical data with effective results reporting.
- Knowledge of SQL.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code principles.
- Knowledge of PaaS and SaaS solutions offered by Cloud Providers (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with deployment including knowledge of CI/CD, containerization (Docker).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
